I totally agree in general, but in this case (car audio) JBL gets more press for their amps than for their speakers. So for that price I had to go with JBL...

my sig has the all the info. my head unit is a Clarion RMX855Dz minidisc player. i have a Clarion RDC634 6-disc changer under the passenger seat. the JBL P80.4 is under the driver's seat. i have Cerwin Vega HED-162 & HED-1683s in the doors. i had to drill new holes for the HED-162s in the rear door. i think it sounds really nice. more bass than what i thought i would get, but of course nothing compared to a sub. it works for me

I have been looking at the JL audio amps , cause i know they make some pretty good stuff, anyhow , whatever amp I get I will be getting another like it ,but more powerful and of same brand to push the sub... I think the JBL is a nice amp , but I need more power, and I don't really know to much about their amps, . I am definetly checking out the alpine V12's as the Alpine Vpower that I had was pretty darn good for a low end amp wich cost approx. 200 bucks .... damn those thieves

sorry, no pics of the install. there really is nothing to see except for the head unit since the changer and amp are under the front seats.

That's true, but I'm interested in how it looks anyway. Like, did you end up blocking the ductwork that's under the front seats? Does the amp stick out at all, and if so, how much? That's the kind of thing I want to know...

Cool

Under or around $200: Look at Fultron (DC4004, 50x4), Pioneer or Jensen. Don't laugh at Jensen, since Recoton bought 'em 4 years ago, their reliability has gone up. $200-$300: Memphis Power Reference, Alpine V-Power series, Rockford Punch series, MTX. $300 & up: Memphis Studio Series (ST3004, 75x4 or ST2004, 50x4, I have the 3004), Eclipse, Rockford Power series, Alpine V-12 series, Kove ZX 504, Ultimate TA-4320II (100x4), Planet Audio P-300.4s (75x4). Lot's of choices, but these amps kick booty. If you want a 5 channel, Memphis Belle (75x4, 1100x1) and Eclipse (50x4, 330x1) are the best.
