If you really were thinking in the mind of protecting others that were looking for info on Suspension and the do's and don'ts then it should stay in the Suspension. How can you say that this is not a good topic for people that want to improve their suspension. it is not a Exterior/Interior mod??
In order to get the word out that yes in fact cutting springs is not good then it needs to go where people will look for Suspension not in Exterior/Interior.
Do you just not want to deal with the fact that not everyone wants to do suspension your way?

please refer to this thread... http://www.protegeclub.com/forum/sho...&threadid=3492 it's been discussed many times, and somewhat in depth. i'm gonna back up jesse on this, and it should stay in interior/exterior because it has nothing to do with performance, only looks. ghetto drop is exactly how it's labeled on the subject, straight ghetto. someone suggested putting cement bags in the car to get a good feel for the drop. try that ;D stay away from killing the springs. AND NEVER, EVER EVER TAKE A ******* TORCH TO THE SPRINGS. do you know what happens to springs when heated? do you what can happen to springs when heated? search online, i'm sure you'll come across 8 billion threads about how someones springs decided to shatter.. why? because they were heated up to aquire the 'dropped look.'

Looks all too familar,
yes I stated that is is not a safe method to change your suspension your car.
And yes protetype
How ******* stupid do you think I am, Does Tensile strength mean anything to you, Also you can have your springs refucking heat treated to regain thier tensile strength.
Does the word Metalurgy mean anything to any of you?
Yes I agree it is improper method to create a lowered ride.
I also do not agree with your method of belittling my intelligence.
If everyone that said something stupid was pushed off of a thread I really dont think there would be many threads going. If it provides you with humor then you leave it if you dont like the idea or philopshy behind it you move it
Come to the Valley of the Sun and let me show you how to build a car with out BOlt on parts.

wait i have an OPINION....
If you put lowering springs are your car...dosne't that mess up your struts??? Is anyone gonna answer me? Ok ill answer. YES!!! If you put lowring springs on your car without changing your struts it will mess up eventually. Same with cutting your springs. Taking one coil out IMHUMBLEO, will do no more damage than lowering springs. I had some spring clamps on my springs, which is like taking half a coil (if you read my other post i said that it started to toe in.), and the reason it toed was cuz i didn't put them in the middle of the springs (middle by if you were looking down at the top of the springs...both clamps were on one side of the spring...) anyway...i don't know the right method which is why i came to this post...however i dont THINK that cutting your springs if you do it right will mess up the SUSPENSION more than lowering springs.
and speaking of coming to this post...i agree with jesse in a way...the way is that i don't care where the post is cuz all i have to do is go to the search button and type in what im looking for...however if i wanted to go through about a million threads i would have started in the suspension area...
oh yeah and yes cutting/getto droping however you see it will help handling. It helped alot, believe it or not, when i put the clamps on. O.K. Just had to put my $.02.
P.s. One more post and i can have a avaitar after 6 months of aganizing pain...YESSS.

The majority of these vehicles are front wheel drive economy cars. Often times riceboy will take shortcuts and hack the factory coils to make his or her vehicle look lowered. It is very common to see the wheels bowed inward, like someone had just stepped on the car and the suspension didn't recover from the pressure.
