I totally agree with you guys. I am thinking of making my car into more of a track car rather than an autocrosser. I like the higher speeds, but downforce is the battle that any track-er will face. every little bit helps and I'm just looking for cheap stuff now, hence why downforcers are the first on the list.

unless you have forced induction, our cars are hard pressed to see over 100mph on any given track. and at that speed, the car is very stable. adding unnecessary downforce will just slow you down.

i dont think a few canards on the front of his bumper as gonna do a whole lot of slowing down, i say more power to ya, im thinking of eventually turning my car into a track car, i just got an IHI turbo so once its on ill be more than ready for lots of speed (whenever that is lol)

I guess I need to go back to the track sans downforcers, get my lap times via transponder, then go back avec downforcers and see if it makes a difference.

At least that way I could get in two really good lap days with the Pro

if the downforcers aren't slowing you down, they aren't giving you any measurable additional downforce. a 1980 porsche 911 with a front wind splitter was slower by almost 5mph on the back straight at mid-ohio.

Oh your breaking my heart! You have one of the cleanest hell down right prettiest cars I've seen. Don't put that on it, buy a nother pro, stip it and build that one to race! PLEASE!!!

Okay okay... you convinced me.... actually my bank account convinced me... Don't quite have the money for any major performance mods in the near future and sure as hell can't buy another Pro. So I guess I am going the route of a show car... I've got it all mapped out and it's gonna be awesome...

And besides, I created this thread as a hypothetical question-ish. Mainly to get a dscussion going about front-lip aerodanamics since all we seem to talk about here are rear wings and the like.

Hey I was looking online and saw a front lip for the MP3? Anyone know what the deal is with that? That may be what I am looking for...

front lip front spoiler, its basically the same thing as a wind splitter, its there to help add downforce in the front, doesnt look too bad either if u get a nice one.
