First "Mod"!!!
So I just purchased and installed my first "mod"...not really a performance enhancer, but an interior upgrade.
They are a nice set of Aluminum and Black Ractive sport pedals. Only problem is I got the brake and clutch pedals on no problem, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the gas pedal on.
Any words of wisdom are greatly appreciated.

What's up with these pedals, everyone is having trouble. The Ractive ones seem to be the same as the Nikken ones I have in my P5 and I had trouble with all three pedals. I had to make a new piece for the brake and clutch so that it could be put on securtely. I could not put the gas pedal on the way it says and instead put it on below the pivot point, plus I did not use the bit of double sided tape they supply. Not bad at all after I had it in and it's pretty secure. I will see if I can post a pic later tonight.

That would be great if you could post some pics, or tell me how you got your gas pedal on...I too don't think I will use that double sided tape crap, and will probably have to put it on under the pivot point, the pedal itself doesn't seem to fit flat against the stock pedal either.
Your help is always appreciated.
FYI my brake and clutch pedals worked like a charm, and they look great, I'll post some pics later. They are on super tight though and I can't even budge them with my hand which is good.

How much are the aluminum/racing pedals? The Ractive ones and especially the Momo pedals are really popular. Just out of curiosity...how do these compare to stock? Lighter? Heavier? Just better looking? Thanks for the input!

I got the Ractive ones for $39 CDN from a dealership, probably could have found then cheaper had I shopped around but hey it was an impulse buy. I think the MoMo ones are more expensive.
As for comparison, all I had to do for mine was remove rubber covers, so yes the new ones are heavier than those covers. They are also larger...and of course nicer looking.

Interesting that you removed your rubber pedals, as I left mine on as I figured it would give more grip behind the pedals. Seems to be working out fine.
Sorry still have not had the time to take some pictures so will try and do so this weekemd when I take some of the car itself.

I think that double sided tape goes under that big piece. That's how my Ractives are set up. Also, that looks as if it's mounted really low as well..is that so?

Nice pics, they look almost identical to my pedals except mine are just black in the center, no carbon fibre. They look nice though. They install the exact same way as your did...the pics are very helpful thanks.
All of my pedals are now installed and look/work great.
I hope to have some pictures of them up by tonight.

Do you guys find any problem with the larger pedals that when you step on the brake, if you are not careful, that you hit the Gas pedal too? I had some on my previous car and it was something I always had to be careful of.

Yeah, I am noticing now that when I brake, my foot is sometimes pressing the gas pedal too. It's a bit dangerous, but this if the first time I've used after market pedals and suppose it will just take some getting used to repositioning my feet on the pedals. If you have any suggestion to remedy this problem please let me know.

hitting the gas while using the brake is the premiss behind 'heel-toe' shifting. that is also why the pedals are really big like that. it is much easier to heel-toe when the pedals are closer together.

The only time I really found it difficult was when I was backing up. Came close a couple of times. There is no real secret, just get into the habit of taking your foot up off the gas and then press the brake, not just a pivot on the heel. Just something you have to be conscious of.
Yeah, heel toe, is a lot easier with the bigger pedals. Actually I took the Gas pedal of my old car before I traded it. Figured the brake was large enough just had to make the gas a little bigger....just have to get around to installing it.
