Factory Foglight Switch

I decided that I wanted my cig lighter back to use to charge my phone. You see I pulled the lighter to fit my PIAA switch in it's place many many moons ago. It was a perfect fit. As i was seaching through the junk yards a few weeks back, i was looking for a defroster switch to use, but then i came accross an Escort GT with (now gone) factory foglights. I'm not sure it that was an option or they just came with em. but i thought...hey, it must have a switch....low and behold a pristene switch in an untouched dash...Sweet!

This may be old news to some of you, so bere with me, but i only recently decided to look for a switch, and the PIAA has been in there for like 12 years

It has 4 wires

2 small guage
red/black - parking lights
red - dimmer
Both these wires go to the same color wires on the dimmer switch right next to it.

2 large guage
red - switched power
I connected mine to the Black/Red accessory wire at the main ignition harness
Light Green - 12v out to foglight relay

I know this is an old thread, but I just found it =P

That's a nice switch for it, as I would love to add a switch like that on my Pro for fog lamps. Unfortunately, that exact spot is already taken up by the Center Differential lock for my 4WD Pro... What year Escort did you find those that out of anyways?

I pulled one out of a 91 Escort GT. (91 - 96 ish should work). How about that space to the left of the wheel? (The cruise control goes there on LXs?) I pulled the fog lamps too, but it's obvious there is nowhere for the harness to plug to. I hope they are okay cause I pulled it out of an EGT with an exploded battery

Darryl, I know you said before, but where did you get the trim with the speaker grille like that? I can see the pattern from the backside, but...

i got the switch from a 91 EGT.

I'd rather a center diff switch than the foglight switch

Pretty sure the 90-91 Pros had that dash panel only. but i had to custom make a mounting plate out of ABS plastic and had to cut the metal plate as well.

They are nice, indeed I'll sell you my center diff switch, with the car that is (if I sell it, ever, hehe).

I was wondering about that speaker there myself. I have that grill there on my Pro and always wondered why they put it there. I could fit some speakers up there, but didn't see any mounting brackets... Maybe I can make some like you did.
I think I'm gonna see about making a graphics to put on an A/C switch like where you all have it on the LX's. I don't have one, except for the cover that's there. Find the switch in the junkyard, take the label off of it and put my own there.

Take it easy
