This is what you do!

Hey...I have a blue MP3 with carbon altezzas, and wouldnt you know it....same thing done happened to me! Here's what you do....Write APC personally, a nice letter explaining the case, and they'll tell you to send them back and theyll give you a case number.....but i would tell them you purchased them , but threw away the receipt. Give it a try ...good luck! I have a new set on the way.

Hey I was just wondering about the gun metal altezza's that someone was talking about on here, where did you find them?? We've been searching for carbon fiber ones for awhile now and they are impossible to track down so I was thinking maybe we could find a pair of those easier. Please let me know.

king_girliegirl, As far as the gunmetal ones go, I remember one of the guys said it was available at www.rsversion.com. But seriously, if these altezzas melt/fog up so easily and if its not because of moisture but cheap overheated plastic, the chances of yours fog up in a couple of months is pretty high. May not be a very good $168 investment on your car.

Hi Guys.

I just got my carbon fiber APC tails a few days ago (Monday August 19, 2002). WOW they really look good on my black car (in my opinion they look way better than the stock lights). BUT ........two days after I installed them the passenger side had a small whiteish fog patch about 1 inch tall and about 3/4 of an inch wide on it. It was towards the inner part of the light about half way up ..it's where the outter plastic piece angles in towards the trunk ..right in the crease (on the passenger side).

I was kinda pissed because I tried sealing it with silicone first but it doesn't really appear to be moisture ..looks like a white residue. I called the company whom I bought them from and they said to contact APC because they didn't know if there was a way to clear it up. I called APC and spoke to a "tech" there and he said that they "shouldn't do that". He said there is no need to seal them with silicone either. He said if it is within 3 months of purchase you have to send them back to the place where you bought them. If it's over 3 months you send them directly back to APC and they will send you another set. If you did seal them with silicone I recommend taking it all off before sending them back otherwise they might say that the lights fogged up because of the extra silicone.

Here's the tech# for APC: 909-898-9840

Good luck,

Jon

Jon,

Do your lights have the red strip along the sides?

Yep it has the red strip. I think I actually prefer to have the red strip there ...it kinda creates a border for the lights ..it might look a little too plain without it (imo). My buddy said the same thing today.

The box has a picture of the chrome lights without the red stripe ..I think it looks pretty ugly without it.

I hope the next set doesn't have the same problem ...I really like the look of them on my black car ...I bought a smoked gray license plate cover too ...now the entire backend looks really dark and clean.

Jon
