Disabling the Alarm

Disabling the Alarm
I am about to ship my P5 overseas to Iceland. The thing is that the shiping Co. wants me to disable the alarm so that it will not be going off on the boat. Is there a way to do that or am I just going to have to turn the sensitivity all the way down?

if it's a factory alarm, then look in your owners manual for the correct fuse to pull from the fuse box.
if it's aftermarket, the fuses will not be in the fuse box, you'll have to locate the main module brain (usually under the drivers side of the dash) and within a few inches of it, you'll find the fuse(s).

I think most aftermarket alarms provide an easier way of disabling the alarm through the remote. You should be able to turn off passive arming at the very least, which would also solve your problem.

Passive Arming is usually and internal programming mode and requires the use of again, the key and valet switch but now also the remote, in certain combinations.
I understood his post as to "kill it", but valet mode works fine too, but if the car sits for a few weeks, the battery will see a drain, albeit small.

I ended saying to hell with it. The people at the port said not to worry. I tried the valet mode but it dont think i knew what i was doing. EIther way the car is on a boat and hopefully we will be reuniting soon. This country has 323s familias like mad. I will take my car around and get some pics.
