Custom Grill

I want to do a custom grill on my 90' lx before i get it painted. So far im going to remove the side moldings, take the emblems off the trunk, the only thing that would be out of place is the grill. Any ideas for a grill would greatly be appreciated

When I had my old Protege I bought mesh, cut it, bent it, and pop-riveted it in. I cut the old part out and just replaced it with the mesh. It looked good!

did you cut the whole inside out, or just where the plastic mesh is? cause if you cut the whole inside out it will also cut the mounting brackets off.

maybe a Tracer grille. Well it's not really a "grille" perse... it's a clear plastic, like the headlamps, it's solid up top but with a 2" opening along the bottom. Can easily be painted and would give you a different look.

the emblem on the tracer doesn't have to be bondoed in its mounted behind the plastic and is flush so all you would have to do is paint it

umm, just follow this link http://www1.projectprotege.com:82/HT...ille/index.htm

cable, you wrote it, might as well post it. as far as the tracer grille, whats the purpose? i mean it would look hella neat if you could mount it right and get rid of the emblem altogether, not even bothering throwing your mazda emblem back on... that would look neat. do yourself a favor though, if you tear off your trunk badging, plug the holes it leaves.
peace
