Custom Foglights

I've decided that I really need some foglights especially pointed right in front of the wheels so I can avoid potholes at night. I fear potholes!

The problem with the oem lights is that I can't stand the look of them they take away what little edgy look the car has, 2k lx. I figure the car could continue to look good while giving me some light if I were to just use some round lights.

I already went out and bought some 2.5' lights, I just need a place to put them. Im thinking of getting a piece of plastic and just cutting it to fit the hole in the bumper and sawing out a hole for the light.
My problem is that lowes doesnt carry plastic sheets of any usable thickness. They have some 100x stronger then glass accrilic sheets( the name escapes me) but it only comes in really thin sheets. Like they bend easily, I figure at any sort of speed they'll just blow apart.

Any ideas on the kind of material I should use I was thinking wood but if it rains it will just deform. Steel is another option but at lowes it was like $30+ a sheet and i dont have a mig welder.

Last thing anyone with a 99-00 pro know how to pull out the factory foglight covers i reched up behind and found 4 screws that I think are holding them in I just cant get to them because theres some big metal thing in my way so I only have a few inches of clearence ( not enough for a screw driver). I then tried to pull of the bumper and after I had all the screws I could see off it was still pretty on there. If I could get thouse covers it would be alot easier to make some custom mounts.

you have to take the bumper off and then take the fogs out....use plexiglas for a material..home depot should have some in a decent thickness
