I went and got most of my materials this past week and started building the prototype today. All is going well, just wanted to keep everyone updated. I should have something to show everyone before long.

Damn! $175 would be a pretty good deal. I considered doing the same but after just fabricating kickpods for my car, I've decided that it's just not worth my time & health (fumes). maxx, you can probably vary the airspace a little to suit the customer's needs, also, some people would be able to afford a little more airspace than others. BTW, if you aren't doing it already, take the actual panel out of the car & just spend a weekend doing a couple of molds fo the panel. That way, your car won't smell as much & you can do it in a more open space. It's also a lot easier as you can lay the panel flat. I think for a box that comes out as much as hihoslva's MDF box, but made out of fiberglass, you can probably get pretty close to a full cubic foot if not more if you're efficient with the use of the space. A single cube with a decent 12" & enough power should be enough bass for all but the bassheads. For eg, a JL W6V2 with 500 watts would bump pretty good. Or, for the really bass hungry, a Brahma 12" with a kilowatt would rattle your car & neighbour's car to pieces. comparable boxes from big name manufacturer's go for $400 & up, although, they usually come with the sub. My idea was to do it on the driver's side of the trunk but that would have netted only about half a cube at the most. I do have a mold of the panel already but have been too lazy to build it up. I only planned on putting an old 8" Solobaric in there until I sold it & got my Focal sub.
