A/C Backlighting Change

A/C Backlighting Change
After some consulting, i want to make the change my dash lighting all around to orange. only problem is that i can't figure out how to accomplish such a task.
Cluster:
pull out cluster, pull of bulb condums and change bulbs to red to achieve a red/orangey look.
Radio: already orange or green to my choosing
Automatic shifter indicator:
in theory, to change the bulb to red
a/c... now, this is the biggest problem that i can forsee, getting to that bulb that back lights the a/c controls is a bitch, however, the bulb is white, i know for certain, but the plastic overlay can be slightly modified if done carefully. my idea was to pull of the plastic overlay, trace one out of vynl with an exacto knife and figure some way to mount the overlay back in, but nobody can see to tell me how i can do this, does anybody have a suggestion?
peace

well, look at the set of controls very carefully, you can pull out the bulb and change the color of the bulb if wanted (same as the maplights in our car if i'm not mistaken) however, that still leaves the issue that the overlay is still individually colored for each picture on the duct selection and same with temperature and blower speed. in theory, if you could make some sort of colored overlay with the pictures cut out of it, put some clear plastic over it and glued, and adheased the new overlay back into your controls, i was imagining since the bulb behind the overlay is white, it would light up to whatever color you made the overlay. this would take the hassle out of finding a colored bulb to swap... getting the old bulb out, or just slipping a colored cover for the bulb. not to mention the color bulbs don't seem to last as long as a traditional clear bulb, on top of the fact if painted, the bulbs won't hold their color. which is why i tried talking to you in the first place daryl, figuring you're the resident vinyl worker . take a look at what i'm talking about and tell me what you think
peace and thanks
