BOSE in a Protege

Has anyone put a bose unit from a miata in their protege? Will it work if you use a head unit from the same year of miata? Are there any modifications nessecary (amp?) or is this the wrong route?

Most bose system have either 1 central amp or a/an amp on each speaker and they normally run at 2 or 1 ohm like the rx-7 and maxima. But for the time and money involved you could buy a good headunit/4channel amp/speakers and still come out cheaper.
