Ill try to get pics as soon as I can..and yes, I did buy a new valve cover gasket. You dont always need to, but, mine was pretty thin.

Thumbs up polishing the engine.

I recently have started to polish mine as well. I started with the easy part first which was the heat shield. i used degreasser to clint it then i used 2000 grit wet sand paper being its smooth already. after that i took the polish and placed it on some steal wool. You notice a big differnce off hand but once its polished you can repete the step again by sanding then polihind a 2nd or 3rd time. I did mine twice and it almost looks like crome.

almost forgot... me personally i like everything to look like crome. Those of you who like to paint it then polish the letters dont you think it would look better to polish it all... and instead of paint to use as a highlight under the hood you can have a graphic shop cut the letters out in viynl and place those over top. This way you can even have it done in reflective or metalic color as well. My boy did this to his car and it works great the heat dont bother it at all. Try www.Seasidegraphix.com if you think you might want to try it. They'll send you them with no shipping fee just tell them the size of the letters and email a picture of the text so it will be perfect fit.
