Autometer Shift Light Install
Hey all....I just recently got a Autometer shift light for my P5...I was wondering if anyone out there knows where the correct wire for tapping into the rpm signal is??
I thought this would have been already answered...but I tried searching and came up with zippo....so, any help would be very much appreciated!
Thanks, Peter

Hey Peter,
The RPM signal is supposed to be available at the OBD2 connector (diagnostic port). This is the trapazoidal-shaped connector under the dash, to the driver's side of the clutch pedal. You'll have to contact the dealer or ask someone who has the manual here, or even consult the OBD2 spec to find out exactly which wire contains the RPM signal.
Sorry this isn't a complete answer, but it's a start. Where are you going to mount the display? Is it just an led or does is display RPMs also?
