Question Audio setup

Hi!

I currently have my car equipped with a JVC head unit KD-LH1000, Pioneer rear speakers TS-A6975 and Boston Acoustics front NX87 speakers.

I was wondering what should be my next purchase. I was thinking about spending 200-300cdn$.

A sub? an amplifier? something else?

Thank you in advance!!

Are you happy with the kind of volume your head unit is putting out? If so, go with a powered sub or a mono amp and a subwoofer. It all depends on what you are after. Some people just want a little bit of bass and some want a lot. Do you plan on competing? Are you like me, in to SQ, but can get carried away and want to CRANK IT UP some times? You did a good thing with getting the mids and highs taken care of first. A lot of people go for bass then replace the factory speakers (which can sound like **** when you have a LOT of bass).

I have the 6cd changer stock system in my protege, and I installed the boston accustics RC620 series in it 2 months ago. I listened to the speakers in a friends car with an amp, and man, you don't need no subs. Those speakers handle alot of power and WILL sound good. I am about to install my amp (kenwood, 600W 4 channel) I will install it 2 channel, but more watts to each speaker because I have the normal speakers at the back. I would go with the amp, you WILL see difference as I saw in my friends car

Are you really the ONE? I love that movie matrix. Anyway, with your Kenwood 4 channel amp, you have a lot of flexibility. You can run your fronts off of it and get a sub(s) or run all 4 speakers with it. Cool beans! Your lucky that some one has a similar set up and you were able to listen to it!

I can't wait to put the amp in, just have to find some time
But, am I the ONE, dunno, but sure as hell convince my friends other wise...lol......I will post how the speakers sound when I finish the setup. as you could tell, I am not for the bass and music competition as just for personal use, and some fun when i want to crank it up.

you have one hell of a system, and you know those boston accustics. they can HANDLE power, so that's why I am happy with my choice even though they caused a pot hole in my bank account
