Amp Install Location - Comments?

Amp Install Location - Comments?
I am getting ready to put my amp into my '02 ES, and I've started building a rack on which to mount it. My idea is to have the amp suspended on the rack, (right way up of course), on a rack hanging a few inches from the rear deck. This allows about 2" to 3" above the amp for air circulation, and it's about 40Wx4 RMS, so it shouldn't run too hot.
Any comments on this location?
Also, I plan on using one of the two existing bolt holes on the portion of the deck that curves down against the rear seat as my ground point for the amp. Anyone anticipate problems with that?
Thanks for any help you can give!

While I taken "heat" (pun intended) for my upside down mounting, I have used the exact location. I planon building a similar rack to the one you are contemplating at some point, actually just do a remount of the board I already have my amp, cap, and distrubution blocks mounted on. How will you suspend it? The only rub I have thought of at this point is that the connections to the amp board, at to the shelf will have to be solid to avoid falling apart or ramming the deck on rought roads.
It is a great out of the way location, and assuming it is an AB amp, which the bast majority are, it should not run too hot. I bolted into the rear shelf, no problems. Most folks use the seat belts or similar gournding locations, again, no problem, just make sure to sand to the body.
Personally I like still having my trunk!

The way that I plan on suspending the rack is by using solid side supports that bolt into the rear shelf. I looked at the "sculpting" of the metal on the rear shelf, and designed the supports so the bolt points are always on the lower part of the metal (may not make much sense to anyone until you go look).
I have no idea if the amp I have is an AB one, I haven't even heard that term before. But I highly doubt I will have heat problems from an amp with that kind of power output.
I agree with you, I like having my trunk too. Under one of the seats complicates installation that much more and of course should you need access for the future, the trunk is very easy to get at.
