Do you guys agree? Will the 9813 just not fit? If so, I'll sell it and get a 9811...
Thanks!

Hey Guys!!
OK- If the good folks of Alpine recommend beefing up the wiring, then it is a most excellent idea. Some of the newer headunits with "high output" internal amps need more than a pencil wide wire. Blue has it right on the numbers, it can run on the stock wire, but it will heat up. I have seen power draw on an amp melt the jacket off the wire entirely. I don't see that happening in the Alpine, but I would not get into potentially voiding warrenty by burning up any stock wires!
The ground should also get a upgrade- easy rule of thumb is "close" to the same size as the positive. Ground as close as you can to the chassis, but watch out there is lots of induced whine to be had on the front fire wall! Ground should be as short as managable.
Crutchfeild has some really poor data in thier system on several cars, including the Protege. On the other hand no one else has as comprehensive a list of on propriatary information on some many different cars and hardware. They should probably best be viewed as a good starting resouce, but not the bible if it is close.
