Adding a second head unit

I have a Mazda 3 GT and wanted to upgrade my stereo. I hate the way the scoshe and metra dash kits look. I was wondering if anyone had added a second head unit (in the glove box, arm rest, etc. . .). I want to keep the original head unit / lcd functioning. mainly I want to keep the display, but if the volume **** worked that would be even better. Any ideas?

I am thinking about installing a second unit (mainly to watch movies etc.) i have decided on a unit that will have to be imported (since i live in sunny South Africa). You can view the unit at

if anybody has suggestions for me, please let me know

Alot of hard work can make it all work the way you want. A little bit of work can give you a DVD and 7" screen in the dash. Interested?
