I'd like to know the same. I seen the guy w/ the 3rd gen that customized his own oem bumpers w/ grand am lips, really got me motivated to do my own custom work!

i'll take more pics of it today, if it's sunny. it's been raining for the past week.

i picked up the front bumper from the guys over at corksport. thats where i get most of my stuff done, including my engine swap.

i actually took the lip from a civic and had my body shop fit it to the bumper. it fit pretty damn good except for two bevels on the corners. we heated it up and the fit perfect. no one can tell its from another car.

note about the JDM bumper:

this is only a bumper cover, not a bumper. you do not have your safety cushioning as you would in the US bumper that is stock. the foam cushioning is not interchangable.

PS: i like the zeal kit too, (i was gonna use the back end)unfortunately i emailed both companies in the PI 2 monthes ago and got no word.

i was thinking of trying to costomize a wide mouth civic bumper to my front end. how did they attach the lips on the bumper, fiberglass?

fiber glass won't work. you need something that bends. the civic front doesn't matech exactly. you need to have it bend to confornt to the (squarish) jdm front. i wouldn't recommend it either. it cracks too easily.

my lip is actually made of ABS plastic, won't crack or chip. we just bolted it on at the corners and used double sided tape as well along the frontto keep it stable.

i don't know about the US spec bumpers tho. so if you plan on customing something on them, good luck. someone was saying a '01 civic lip might work on the US spec bumper

I know its not fiberglass. i mean what you used to attach the actual lips to the bumper ( tape?). I would like to really get my own look but as you know I'm BUDGTBALN so i dont want to **** up royally. plus where are the lips from they look somewhat bigger than other peoples. mad props on the prolooks great.

the jdm bumper has a slight lip on the bottom already, so the civic lip fits over that. i used double sided tape between both parts. besides that, the screws at both ends near the wheelwells

i assume that the your bumper would fit my 96. Your headlights are bigger but i have the trim underneath. 01 civic he' i'll have to look into that. i would really like the 98 talon big mouth but there's no way in hell thats fitting.

this isn't regular tape, like masking tape or anything, this is a weather resistant, industrial strength tape. and the tape is mostly used to keep it in place and not so much to secure it. thats what the screws are for on the ends.

know wha i mean? i'll take pics.

i'm not quite sure if my bumper will fit a 96.

as far as the lights go i know my corners are my blinkers as well. the 95-96 have a separate light for that, right? i really haven't check the headlights but yeah they might be bigger too.

yeah i dunno.

I'm going to call a mazda dealer today and ask cause if the 97/98 bumper would fit the 95/96 then i want that one cause I like the j-spec one for the 97/98 a little better. Is corksport the only place that carries the j-spec bumper for us?
