cruise the wine route...

everyone,

I need to know who would be intersted on joining rx7s, miatas and some mx3s for a cruise on the niagara region..
scenic routes plus twisties .......
The event would be setup as a little navigational rally...
then at the end of the day, stop to eat, chat and so on.....
Cost probably jusr $5 for the photocopies of the route if so...

So far we are looking around 2nd week of Aug...

Let me know if any of you are interested...

Does TO protege club uses this forum??

I did this route a couple of summers ago with my girl and it was beautiful. Anyone who has never done it, should definitely go. I wish I had my MP5 already, I'd join you guys.

Just a note ... the weekend of Aug 10 would probably be cool. But Aug 17 weekend is the touring car race as mosport so a bunch of Toronto guys will be attending that.

OK here it is.....

AUG. 10 Saturday @1pm
Meet @ Tim Horton's/Wendy's parking lot by mud st. and Hwy 20

I'll be there 1/2 hr early to line up a spot for parking.

To get there:

Take QEW Niagara exit on Centennial Prkwy. (Hamilton)
Go up towards Hwy 20 (Up towards the escarpment) and all the way to Mud St. (major intersection)

There is parking spots for buses and that's what we'll take.

Quad M ( miata ) are coming along est. 15-20 cars

Protoges ???
MX3???
RX7s start the head count.

Also, since this is somewhat a navigational rally..
I need help to cover the cost of photocopying the route , directions etc... $5 should be good enough.
Also if anyone interested in staying over here I could arrange a hotel where everyone could stay and crash the BMW meet the next day...

As far as dinner goes, I'll look into having the final checkpoint in one of the hotels where dinner buffet is served.

About the route:

WARNING!!!!!! The route consists of winding roads (LOTS), scenic and there are going to be traffic. but if everyone follows the route/directions plus bring their FRS it should be fine.
AGAIN this is NOT a high speed, cannonball rally. it is a fun, laid back event.

I forgot to mention that the route would be handed to the drivers before they start to keep it more exciting and to give us a bit more time.

As far as the $5 thing forget about it. One of our guys here will take care of the printing etc.....

anybody who wants to crash here let me know. I'll find a cheaper hotel here in St. Kitts with the RX7 guys, possibly the miatas..
we are planning to crash the BMW meet here in St. kitts the next day.

so far we are expecting 25 miatas and 15-20 rx7s.
The route is pretty much planned out just have to write the directions to correspond with the map.

If anyone is still interested please excercise caution and common sense. specially on twisty runs. we are going to encounter traffic.

make sure your tires and brakes are in excellent condition.

If this cruise is succesfull we are considering this a yearly event...
