Cool another Protege would be cool !

Yes you can register at the event but there is no guarantee there will be spots left. If you register online you just reserve your spot (stating postion and heat number) and then pay once you show up at the race at registration. Here the link : http://www.autocrossers.com/cgi-bin/AI1.pl

No special license needed a helmet will provided if you need one. I'd be there early so you can watch a heat race to get the feel for how things go and so that you can pre walk the course before your heat runs. Also they will tech your car during registration to make sure its safe. Which includes checking seatbelt, wheels hubs, and the motor for loose parts or leaks, and then a no hands brake test to make sure you stop in straight line. Go to this site: http://solo.wdcr-scca.org/novice.htm and read the article and you be all set for the race. Ignore all the SCCA specific stuff this race is ran by a Local Porsche club.
Hope to see you there it will be the best fun you have ever had guaranteed!

Talking Wow! autocrossing is fun!

Ran in the autocross practice session at Six Flags America today. I have never driven my car like that, ever

It's a lot of fun, everyone should try it if there's an opportunity.

biknman was there as well. He ran really well, even beat some BMW's times

I took a lot of pictures at the race, I'll post them when they get developed

now where can I buy some R-compound tires....

Thanks for coming out it was cool to have fellow Protégé out there. I cannot wait to see your photos. I'm racing again next Saturday the 23rd at FedEx Stadium in the afternoon heat. Its a SCCA Member only practice event but they will be offer memberships at registration if you want to sign up and race: http://solo.wdcr-scca.org/novice.htm . The word is that the FedEx stadium lot is bigger than the Six Flags lot so the course should be even longer, yahoo!
