Starting a club.......

I am trying to start a protege club. I currently am running a ford probe club. Here is our website if you want to take a look at it.

http://geocities.com/probeturboclub/espoc.html

For those that are interested post here. I just bought my MP5 about 2 1/2 months ago. It is a red 2002 mp5 with about 4000 miles on it.

I was thinking of calling it the ESPOC RACING TEAM right along with the probeclub that i have. What does ESPOC stand for you ask. this is what it means...
East
Side
Probe/Protege
Owners
Club
I alread have some stickers ESPOC STICKERS made if interested. I will also make a website for us unless someone is a better webmaster and do a better job than I!!! I have not problem with that!!

New MP5 Owner
charles

P.S. It doesn't matter what year your protege or 323 is!!!!

ESPOC RACING TEAM

Well the board(s) are good for everyone to meet online and talk. But if we were to get a club together then we will be doing meets like tech meets, trips, bar bq, carshows, or just hanging out on the weekends and makeing friend like one big family.

I am considering this, but its a long drive for me. It takes 3 hours to get to DC and I have a hard time getting off work. I tried to goto carlisle, but couldn't get off work.

well do you guys work on the weekend as well? When i do a meet i will make sure that i give notice about 2 months in advance to get things rolling. We don't have to have meets up here all the time either. i will be willing to come down there also. or meet centrally. I am thinking about doing a meet at myrtle beach sometime. But i want to get the local meets going first!! But i go to mrtle every year for the probe meet that we have down there every year. Last year we had about 100 probes there from all over as far as canada to texas to florida. One guy came from cali and north dakota!!! So hopefully if we can stick together we can get our meets to this magnatude!!! But i need you guys help geting it there and not backing out because we might not have but 5 or 6 people come to some of our meets in the beginning. WE have to make the club and then once others see how serious we are then they will come!!!!! It can't happen without detication!!

Ok since the enthusiazm is getting bigger about the club then i want to answer a few questions that i have been asked.

1) WILL THERE BE ANY DUES

Well my feeling behind that is not right now. I say this not to say that i am planning on doing it later as i have not intention of doing this. But i depends on howthe club works out. As far a taking trips and things like that. But this issue will be left up to votes by you the members!!!!

2) MEETS

Well since i am runnning a probe club, I want to blend the two clubs together a little. So i have had it set that we(probes and now the proteges) go to the track every last friday of the month. But if you guys want to try and make it more than that then that will be left up to the members!!! Also as for the meets go, i want to try and have an OUT OF TOWN meet possibly at least 3 times a year. One meet is the BAR BQ in july, next is maybe a DYNO and then this was done by the probes but we can get to a place like myrtle beach for the last big meet of the year outside of the little mini meets. Last year there was about 100 probe in myrtle beach and 150 owners there!!! The meets don't have to be TRACK,AUTO-X or CAR SHOW meets. It can just be a gathering of protege/ 323 owners to just have fun.

3)REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CLUB:

Well as long as you own a protege/323 then you can join. What i am looking for is enthusiest. Whe that then other will see how serious we are about our cars and the club.

4)WEBSITE

Well for right now we are try to use the board to gather members and once we have enought members then we will make a webpage for the club. I might have info about meets and things on this site for right now (http://geocities.com/probeturboclub/espoc.html)

5)STICKERS FOR THE CLUB:

I currently have stickers already made up so if you want one then they are 2.50ea

If you have any questions or concerns or ideas then please post here or PM me.

The sooner, the better. It seems like all we are doing is talking about it now. Lets put it into action.

I am just waiting to meet up. I would like everyone to go to Summit Point Race Track in West Virginia. It is a Road Course not a 1/4 mile track.

It has a car show and Honda challenge. The weekend is June 28-29. It would be cool for a Mazda to take the Honda Challenge. Here is the page. Click on Summit Point Raceway for directions. www.hyper-fest.com

Summit Point Raceway is about an hour away from the Glen Burnie/Odenton/Laurel areas.

Just Post here. We can set up a meeting point in Laurel/Odenton area.

Thanks
