lol Come to think about it, I saw this chase outside my window a few weeks ago. LOL This clown driving a older model civic( 88 or 89 )was being chased by the cops. He was being chased for blocks. This idiot turns into my complex where it was a dead END. LMAO!!! He hops out the car and started to run. The cop followed him. The guys girlfriend was left n teh car and she got n the drivers seat and drove off. lol Long story short, he was caught and I heard they caught her down the road.

I HIGHLY doubt the old *** civic hit over 80mph riding through a house complex which probably had narrow streets, turns, and curves. Be serious.
The law here (MD) states no chase is allowed OVER 80mph.
I've seen my share of cop chases. There is no way that an 89 civic was doing 80mph through a complex *with* turns (very likely).
Ha...my friend had an 89 Civic HB. He said his TOP speed was 85mph. That was the highest he had ever reach....lol He's pushing a GSR now. BIG difference...lol

Now you are saying this " The law here (MD) states no chase is allowed OVER 80mph. "
And what was originally posted was this " baltimore md has a NO pursuit policy!!! if an officer is starting a pursuit he/she is not allowed by policy to exced more then 10 mph over the posted limit. "
Now more then 10mph over the speed limit is a BIG different from going 80mph. " Last I checked the speed limit doesn't exceed 65mph up north.
Your right VA-NY are totally different states espically VA strict *** policies. But the principles they officiers follow are still the same! Just because its on paper don't mean nothing. Cops everywhere bend the rules to catch suspect and do unlawful **** too don't caught for doing it. Trust me I come from a state where its common. You right I don't live in MD but it still remains the same. A cop can and will persue that suspect until they are caught. Even if they are chasing them 10mphs over the speed limit. No matter what state that suspect is being chased. Now if the suspect was doing 80mph which is a totally different story, you right they won't have to chase or tailgate them, thats why they have helicopters. LoL.
Yo friend just got lucky.
