US energy bill incentivises ethanol
The US Senate has passed a bill to give incentives for car-makers to produce 'dual fuel' vehicles for at least 10 years. Most dual-fuel vehicles in the US have petrol engines which are ethanol-compliant. The incentives scheme gives the manufacturers 'credits' for these vehicles against its corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) figures - and thus compensates for the appalling fuel economy of many large trucks and 4x4s, enabling the firms to meet the required overall targets. Environmental groups are thus critical of the scheme, claiming that dual-fuel vehicles are run on petrol 99 percent of the time anyway as few owners have access to an ethanol supply source. i herd ethenol is bad for motors, as it is cheaper though..
loosens particals in the fuel syst. and loosens natural build up that protects internals of engine, and can break down with moisture, meaning water and fuel are in seperate layers
im not putting my word in this stuff..
