Best way to get cheap prices on the struts you mentioned is to attend a couple of autocrosses, then join the Mazdaspeed Motorsports Development Team Support program. You can get stock Mazda parts for dealer net ($405 for the MP3 strut kit) and you can also buy cool speed parts like the Mazdaspeed struts and the AWR rear swaybar.
You might also want to wait and see if Tokico actually releases struts for the Protege this winter like their website says they will. If they do, buy from RD Enterprises. They advertise in the back of most major car mags and have the cheapest prices on struts in the known universe.
Also, why in the world do you want adjustable control arms?
