You haven't provided enough information. I assume you don't have all the parts needed. The Mazdaspeed strut tower bar does fit on the 03 DX. You need the complete kit: 2 mounting brackets that replace the ones presently on your car, 4 large bar mounting nuts and the vacuum boost sensor bracket to relocate the device.

Welcome to the Forum.

I think you got hosed. Sort of. They sent you the bar itself and nothing else? Since you have no cruise, the main thing you'll need are the two brackets that replace the 3/4 of a circle cresent moon shaped "stiffeners" (black 1/8" thick steel plates) atop your front strut mounts. You can get these brackets from a dealer, just tell them they are for a Protege 5. The vacuum sensor relocation can be dealt with in other ways probably.

These are the parts you need. All this information is taken from the Protege FAQ which was developed by and is the property of TheMAN. This is a must read for all new Protege owners. You can access it at:
http://web2.airmail.net/theman/protegefaq

Click on Performance Mods and then on Suspension and look for the Strut Bar section. The parts listed are:
Right Bracket, part no. BN5V-56-5CX
Left Bracket, B28V-56-5DX
Bar Mounting nuts (4), 9994-01-003B
Boost (vacuum) sensor bracket, FS8M-18-835
Bracket nut (1), 9989-10-600

You can get these parts from your local dealer or at a good price from: www.mazdastuff.com
