Springs on stock struts

Whats the lowest our cars can go on stock struts? Without completly destorying them in minutes. I mean reliably.

More importantly how about if using progressive rate springs. There supposed to offer the best of both worlds (nice ride and good handeling) but from what I understand becuase our stock struts weren't designed for them they put a much bigger strain on them.

I found a set of springs that give a 2" drop but are progesive rate. Im also consitering some cheap coil sleeves that can drop up to 3". For the coil sleeves i would slam the car in the summer but raise it in the winter. The only problem with them is the 300+ ibs/in spring rate would be quite the jaw rattleing ride.
Coments?

even some of the best coilovers will drop the car too low for stockers, and the spring rates are way too high..best option on stockers would be the eibachs or racing beat springs

No, do not put racing beats on stock struts or you'll end up like this

http://www.clubprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11690

if you go racing beats you have to have the msp struts or else you'll be crooked like me. The best bet is the eibachs. Thats low enough.

If anyone else has installed RB springs on Stock struts and you car sets straight, let me know, so I can figure out what I did wrong.

I've had my Eibachs on since April and so far, no problems at all. Mileage-wise, that's been about 15k, mostly highway, but in PA--our roads suck a$$.

I'm still on my stock struts and I've had the Skunk2 Coilovers on for about 2 years (used and abused!!). They are probably ready to go at any time...I'm currently investigating a new suspension set up, but it's so darn expensive! Thankfully though, I was able to adjust the coilovers when I put the 18s on because it was sitting so low that it was rubbing the tires on the back

I thought he put the blues on when he put the racing beats. He knows about my car and he never said anything about it.

****... I just put the Racing Beats on today and my ***-end is sagging a little... I'm hopefully getting Tokico HPs soon, but I was told by the guys who put the springs on that they should settle and look better in a week or two.

Nah, I had the AWR 21.5mm rear sway on the car w/ stock springs/struts. I bought the MSP Racing Beat springs/Tokico's a little while later. Never had any aftermarket springs on the stock struts.

Then I changed to the Eibach Pro Kit because the Racing Beat's were sitting higher than stock on my 99.

Then I changed from the AWR rear sway the Racing Beat front and rear sways.

Then I added all the GT Spec stuff.
