springs or coilovers?

I was wondering which on rides better. On my civic hatchback i have coilovers and the ride is very bumpy, i dont know if its the coilover or the stiff chassics. Well, back to my question, which on rides smoother????

Some coil-overs let you pick the rate, and the spring length. Usually the folks going to coil-overs are doing it to put Very Stiff ones on though. We're talking 300-400+ lbs range. Most of the replacement springs aren't near this firm.

In general, some Eibachs or H&Rs will be more livable than coilovers.
Even expensive coilovers like JIC and Tein are much more race-oriented than lowering springs. If it's looks you want, go for a good set of springs and struts. If you plan on going to the track, look into some JIC coilovers. I love mine.

Stay away from eBay coilovers at all costs.
