Rear Drum brakes to disc (possible?)

I got front rotors from POWER SLOT for my 99 LX. I like them so much I'd like the rear to look the same. Any way to make the stock rear drum brakes to disc to put the slotted rotors on them?

YES you can. you will need to get all the parts that come stock on the ES, that will do it.....but there is one thing, do the discs you have on the front now have FOUR LUGS? if so...well the ES is a FIVE lug like the mazdaspeed, the mp3 and the P5. which all came with factory 4 wheel disc brakes. SO, if your current front discs have 4 lug....well, you should have ask the question about the rears first.....that way you could have just gotten the new front hubs....then gotten 5 lug discs all around. you could still do it...but then the new discs you just got would be for nothing.

switching to five lug though would mean that he has to swap to 5 lug mags as well.. ugh for me that would be too much money down that i'm willing to spend at one time

the FAQ says you can get the parts from a jdm 3rd gen. might be too pricey for you guys there. maybe someone who's into importing surplus jdm stuff can hook you up? i'm sure if they can get engines from wrecked cars, they could find rear disc brakes too.

Personally I would leave the set up as it is ,I realize you want the looks of discs all the way around but Mazda rear calipers are bad for craping out . They need alot of attention to keep them working as they should .
The disc/drum setup will stop you just as quick as 4 wheel discs with no chance of locking up the rears .

I agree with macklum.
Having my 2000 ES (disc/drums) with good pads and brake shoes (from Hawk/Carbotech), it stops on a dime!! The only hassle is changing drum brakes is a pain in the ***, and I guess it doesn't look as cool. However, I looked into the conversion and its about $400/corner, plus wheels- putting it up to $1000 for the whole conversion. And for no gain in performance!
