Protege 5 Shocks and Springs

I am going to get some H&R Sport Spring Set springs which go for about $200

I was told i would need shocks also recommended of course...

I was wondering what shocks i should get and how they cost... I dont have tons of money and i want my P5 to look hot and lowered on my new 17 Inch rims

you have a few choices....the mp3 struts...which will also require new endlinks for the sway bars....those will run you about $500 from a dealer...

OR you can get the mazdaspeed ones from corksport....I think those are about $170 each....they are adjustable

In all honesty. When we spoke with Racing Beat at the time that the cars were first released they mentioned that the protege5 struts were very good and have similar damping to a standard Tokiko HP, not the custom valved MP3s. Unless worn out I would almost say keep the stock ones. I did fine with mine and wasn't riding on bump stops per say. Until such a time that there is a reasonably priced set I would say wait.

Typically one should be able to get a set of adjustables for $500.00 or less. KYB AGX, Tokiko Illumina, some Konis....

It just chaps my hide that we've been waiting a year and a half, yet none to be seen. Oh I had the Mazdaspeed adjustables too. Only thing I didn't like about them was that only the rebound was adjustable.
