P5 Suspension upgrades

I was wondering if anyone out there has heard if there are any swaybar upgrades, braces, or any such things to improve handling even more (already have the eibach springs) available or about to be released.. I asked the mazda parts guy but he said the only things mazda has are for the sedan and the P5 and sedan differ on the suspension enough that sedan parts won't work on P5.

Tell your parts guy he doesn't know what he's saying. All 3rd gen suspension parts interchange. They all share the same design.

As far as swaybar upgrades, try the AWR 19 and 21.5mm rear bars. Protege5Online sells the AWR bars. I have one on my 99 Protege. Check my website. You can also pick up the MP3/Mazdaspeed swaybar kit.

If you want the best handling, get the Tokico Blue struts and Racing Beat springs, which is what I'm in the process of doing. Mazdastuff.com sells em under teh 2001+ Protege performance section.

hope this helps

If I owned that dealership....I would fire that parts guy for not knowing his butt from a hole in the ground....

as Neg stated...all suspension parts from the sedan and the P5 are the same. geeeeeeeeeeeez......

ya know...there is no shame in NOT KNOWING....but some people would rather tell you BS and show their butts then give you an honest "I don't know....BUT, I will check and find out"....I have much more respect for a person that will do that then one that tries to BS you.

I have the Mazdaspeed sway bar kit

PT#0000-8M-C15
List price $450

Kit includes Front and Rear Sway Bar, and rear crossmember (mounts are beefed up)

I have everything and it feels great, nice and stiff.

We too have the AWR bars available. Should have some in stock in the next week or so.

How thick is the MazdaSpeed front and rear sway bars? Also has anyone installed AWR urethane motormounts and the subframe reinforcements? I'm wondering how much vibration these transmit to the passenger compartment compared to say the ones that Corksport sell.

Im not sure but at the end of july I am picking up some parts with whatever I get for my birthday...Looking at headers, intake cam, and urethane motor mounts from AWR off of p5online.

Once I get them and installed I can let you know but it will be a while. The reason Im going with the motor mounts is I have had problems with the brackets that hold the CAI in place actually snapping at the factory bends from too much movement, I hope the motor mounts would help with this and have felt the improvement on other cars but no mazdas.

I installed my AWR 21.5mm yesterday. I can definately tell the difference. There's much less flex in the rearend of the P5. I love it!
