MP5 Bump Stops

I'm new to this forum, and I've been looking all over for a good answer to this question: protegetech.com recommends purchasing a set of MP3/MSP bump stops when installing lowering springs on an MP5. I'll soon be putting Progress (1.5" all around) springs on my MP5, and want to know if I should buy those bump stops, trim the existing stops, or leave them alone altogether. Thanks for any feedback!

Which brings up a good point... if you intend to trim your existing bumpstops, check their condition BEFORE you do the job. Bumpstops are the type of part that dealers don't necessarily keep in stock, and in my experience, McPherson strut bumpstops tend to get torn up and worn out on high mileage vehicles even if the car hasn't been bottomed out frequently. You probably DON'T want to take your suspension apart only to discover that the bumpstops are toast and your local dealer can't get you a new set until next Tuesday.
