Unhappy MP3 struts and MSP floor mats

I ordered my Tokico blues today from Village Mazda in Duncanville Texas. 972 298 0333 The total cost for the front was $267.33 Not too bad I guess. I also ordered the Mazdaspeed Floormats since my car didnt have any when I bought it. They were $79.67 With tax. Ant way I thought some of you would want to know. Some people have said the struts were like $190 each........Duncan

The $190 each is for replacement actual MP3 struts new through the parts catalog...You either got MP3 struts from a warehouse that had them in back-stock or the MSP Protege struts (not the Mazdaspeed adjustables) which superceded the MP3s...

Are the Mazdaspeed Protege stock struts even any different than the MP3 struts? Just a different part number? I have the MS ones and they look exactly like the MP3 ones I have seen in pics. Also $267.33 for the front struts is not a great deal if that is what you were referring to.

$267.33 is what I paid for both struts. I dont think its a good deal either! At a garage sale for $10 is a good deal. I was just saying that they were not as expensive as some people said they were.
How much were yours again?

I paid $121.25 per strut (including shipping/taxes). So my front 2 would only have costed $242.50...not a phenomenal difference.

Ok, then you simply found one of the few dealers with MP3 struts in backstock...I didn't say there was no way you got MP3 struts...But also how are you so sure they are MP3 struts and not MSP struts?? From what I remeber they look identical, and most dealers are not fast at updating their parts computers/catalogs...

This is from Chris (Carguycw):

1) The MP3 accessory strut kit has been superceded by a new MSP strut kit, which is identical but with slightly stiffer valving, and is still quite cheap (slightly over $400 with the team support discount).
You cannot get the MP3 kit anymore unless you can find a dealer with backstock. You can still buy the MP3 struts individually out of the regular parts catalog, but the price is simply ridiculous- the front struts are ~$190 EACH, and that's WITH the team support discount!

So even if they are MSP and not MP3 then I guessing I still didnt go wrong? Which ever they are theyll have to be better than the E-specs ive been running. I hope so anyway. The guys name is Michael Harper. He said he would have to have them sent from the DFW warehouse, so I guess maybe they do have some backstock? I dunno, ill be happy in any event to change them out tomarrow........Thanks for the info and help............Duncan

What really made it cool is that I bought it all through my work, all at once. Then payed them what I could afford to each week till I had it all payed off!
