Is low to low

I have a 2000 Lx and i have sprint springs that will add a 2 inch drop and I have 15" motegi's to go with the car, there is A P5 kit on the way and i was wondering if the 15" rims will be to small and if I should go bigger on the wheels, I don't want it to be to low so that something might get messed up what do you guys think, opinions please!!!!!!

Going to a larger wheel should not affect the overall wheel and tire diameter if you use the 'plus' concept. Basically you get a larger wheel and you get tires with a smaller sidewall. This way the overall diameter stays the same.

what size tires do you have on the 15s"? If you have something like a 195/60, I dont think you would run into problems. Depends on tires though...

Well, stock DX and LX tires are 185/65/14. I went from that to 205/40/17 and there's .01% difference in my speedo going 60MPH. That's good enough for me.

Miata.net has a tire size calculator that will help you out if you want to buy the correct size wheels for your car.

that is something you can work with. those are about .8 inches smaller than the factory 16s' on my P5, should look good with a 2 inch drop. may be a stiffer ride. how do the tires ride now? hope this is helping. later

rims

I was talking to a friend and I was asking him the same question and he said that I have to worry about the offset, that the offset has to be 40mm or higher not any lower is this true. I just found some 17x7 rims and i want to get them or should I stick to my 15's? By the way thanks for all of you guys replys it helps a bunch, its cool coming to this forum and asking people that you've only met through this club and they give you positive feed back thanks alot guys, keep them coming.

2 words to remember: CAMBER KIT!
Camber is not as big a problem when you lower cars that use a McPherson strut setup like our Protege's. A lot of Honda's utilize a double whishbone suspension which does make camber and issue when you lower it.

The only reason I havent bought some 17s is due to the high offset of the wheels. The only true +48 or higher offset wheel is the ADR GT2 wheel, and I dont like it. I have thought about getting my factories chromed, but that makes them heavy. I do not have a camber kit, and my tires appear to be fine. I tuck pretty much most of my rear tires, and I have to be absolutely sure that wheels will fit before I buy some. I am pretty sure that the offset is not so high on sedans, +40 I dont think is high enough.(anyone correct me if I'm wrong). I know I have about .5 of space between the fender and the tire, and I do not want to mess up my rear fenders. Rolling works, but I dont want to do mine. Just happier with a slammed ride on factories for now, I guess. Hope this helps.

P.S. the protege suspension is simple...I just took the wheel off and starting taking things undone that were attached to the strut. I couldnt loosen the upper link nut, so I undid the lower. Sorry I have rambled...damn...
