Question drop

ok lets say i want to put 17 on my protege then how low can i drop my car with out it rubbing.

i have my coil-overs all the way down on my 17s w/no probs and i still race it

no..in fact a guy here locally has 19s on his (i think it looks like ***, but to each his/her own eh?)

Remember that larger usually=heavier, and taller = higher gearing. Both = slower Protege. Don't fall into the trap of "bigger is better, so biggest must be best." Tread design and compound are far more important than aspect ratio or "how cool they look." Not to knock the great looking customized cars out there, just be aware of the trade offs.

Phantom Cruiser when u mean all the way down how much is that like 2" or what ? and is it all tha same is i have a 2001 protege? and what about 18's how low can that go

rims

i have 20's on protege 5, but i also have air rods on but i can tuck the whole tire but also not move. it just depends what your into as size of rims

no, i don't think he's lowered at all.




the larger the wheels, the shorter the sidewall you are going to have to go with, and that will mean for a more uncomfortable ride...don't know how your roads are though, but mine are crappy, and the ride with coil-overs (i think i got about 2" drop, i never measured), and 205/40/17s can sometimes knock your fillings out but damn...it sure handles like a beast in the corners...
