I have a question that might sound stupid.

Can you installed/replace break disc and break pads by yourself? Or have to do it in a shop?

sure you can, but you have to have some mechanical know-how. If you're not sure or have even a little doubt, take it to a shop. After all, your brakes are very, very important to your safety! However, that being said, the process is very simple.

bingo.....he hit the nail on the head....it might help if you have never done it before to go out and buy a manual for your car that will guide you through the procedure...and even after reading it and looking at the pictures, if you decide not to do it...the book will have a lot of other valuable information in it for future projects.....

so if it LOOKS like you can handle it....do it....if you are in doubt at all...have a shop do the work...as stated, its your brakes...if you can't stop...you will be in trouble VERY SOON.

the disk brake pads are the easiest thing to change. You do not have to adjust the calipers after assembly like a brake drum.
All you will need is a socket set to lossen one of the bolts holding it on and take the other all the way out. Make sure you have a C-clamp to get the piston pushed back in. Slide your new pads in and your set. Bolt it back up and your ready to drive. Make sure and torque to proper specs and everything is put back on. Oh yeah get the disk brake squeel gel, apply to the side that the piston is on.
