call me stupid but what the hell does camber have to with me putting on new tokico blues and eibach springs???? i have 2001 protege lx 1.6L with 205/40R17 . what is a camber bolt?? i just wanna lower my car simple and plain.

 

i understand about camber. i hvae been educated. now can anyone tell me where to get a kit for the tokico blues?? maybe i should look for that too

speaking of camber and camber bolts, has anyone found the lower bolt hole in the struts to allow more negative camber than the top hole? Im installing mine this weekend and was curious.

 

Lowering your car will induce a bit more negative camber. Some is good. Too much is bad. In severe cases it can be corrected with eccentric bolts. (AKA "camber bolts", "crash bolts"). These are used where the strut attaches to the hub carrier. You could use them for either top or bottom, or both, depending on if you have tire clearance issues.

 

im lowered 1/2" so thats not it, Im using eccentrics to induce more camber for autocross...trying to find out which hole gives the most negtive camber without sitting there all day and trying, measuring and trying something else...

 

I would guess if you've got the room, tire/strut wise, do both top and bottom. Bring the bottom out as far as it will go, take the top in as far as it will go. As long as the tire doesn't rub the strut.

 

Im running stock 15's with 205/50/15 azenis...I should have plenty 'o' room....

 

on the tokico's would i need one camber bolt or two? does that depend on much needs to be corrected?? to me it doesnt make sense to lower the care and then realize u need the bolts. have the bolts on hand just in case.

 

I have tockico blue's on my car with the racing beat springs and have no need for camber correctoin per say, I am adding bolts to get the most negative camber possible hence more grip on the SOLO course...

Lower your car, see how bad it is, adjust what you can with the stock bolts, then add some "crash" bolts if needed.

FYI either hole works the same, there is **** tons of room to adjust it, slot the strut housing and have at it! I achieved -2 with crash bolts on the Tockico blues with no slotting.
