Brake Light in dash?

I have a 2001 ES and I have noticed that at rapid braking the Emergency Brake light on the dash panel will light up until stopped and then turn off. I was wondering if anyone would know what might be causing this or if they have experienced the same thing? I didn't know if this was a sign of needing new brakes. Let me know if you have any info.

Check the level of your brake fluid. It's low. Check how much material you have on your pads as well. They may be worn and thusly draw the fluid low enough to signal an issue.

The Brake fluid is what it was. I was told if it is just a little below the full line it will light up the light. Thanks for the help
