Crap! ABS light and Brake Light!!

So I had to rev the P5 pretty hard to get up my hill this evening in 6 inches of snow and now both my ABS and Brake lights are on.

User man. says that there is an electronic problem and to get to the dealer asap. Also there is a warning about rear wheel lockup and that it basically sucks and to get to the dealer asap.

Anyone ever have this before?

Thanks!

Try resetting the ECU first. Disconnect the negative battery terminal, let it sit for a couple after pressin on the brake pedal to clear the ECU. Hook it back up, and see if they go away and it drives normal. If not, then head over to the dealer :\

Here's something else.

Don't take offence, I'm not assuming anything, but check your e-brake. Make sure it's completely off...

No offense taken... but it was also the ABS light as well.

***Update -

Well, I came out this morning and started the car and the lights were still on (ABS and Brake)

As I pulled out of the garage, the lights went off. So the only thing I can think of is that I got a ton of snow caked in brakes and it threw off one of the sensors. Still, called the dealer and they want the car in tomorrow to check the codes and the brakes.

Pretty decent service actually...

The same thing happened to me a couple of months ago. I was practicing my handbrake turns on a snowy road at the time. The lights went off after I let the car sit for a bit.

Exactly! I was coming up my snowy driveway and I think I must have packed a ton of snow into the rotor area and screwed up a sensor.

Remember sometimes the lights can go off if you had low brake fluid also.
Good to know, I'll go down and check out my fluid now. I just drove it around town a little bit and it seems fine. no mushy pedal, no problem hard braking.

On my pontiac the ABS sensor/connector was in the wheel hub and whenever that got wet my abs light wnt on and the brakes tried to lock up whenever I stopped.

Update -

Just spoke to the dealer. Apparently when I drove in the 6 inches of snow it got totally clogged up in my rotors which gave a false reading to the sensor, thus my ABS and Brake warning lights came on.

Thought that might be useful to others who might be driving in crappo weather.
