is your car lowered?? will the sway bar, link, block hit anything if the car was lowered??

i remember reading somewhere that the 21.5mm is too thick for our cars and that it causes some problems.......any comments??

The 21.5mm bar may cause some oversteer problems if you do not upgrade the front bar too. Oversteer (when the tail swings out) can be very scary if you are not used to it. Most cars are designed to understeer.

Here's a tip for lowered Protege's that want to get the 19mm bar, get the adjustable end link kit too while you are at it. If your car is lowered, the stock end links will be too short and the bar will interefer with the lateral links when you hit any bumps.

i've read in a couple other threads saying the same thing you have mentioned about the larger bars causing some problems with oversteer if the front bar is not changed as well........but all the posts i've read have said this in the context of the stock suspension......

what is the effect of adding the 21.5mm bar onto a new upgraded suspension set up like Teins or JICs?? will the new bar still cause the oversteering to happen if you don't change the front bar??

With the Tein's or JIC's it'll depend on the spring and compression damping rates. It's tough making a suspension balanced. If you are going to spend the bucks getting the JIC's or Tein's, might as well install a larger front anti-sway bar too, especially if you are going with the 21mm bar.

The 19mm is actually shorter than the stock bar meaning it will sit higher off of the ground.

You can use the stock end links as long as your car is not lowered. If it is lowered, then you need to get the AWR adjustable end links.
