I'm not sure about the MX-6 being a 2 door 626, but I know the MX-3 is not a 2 door Protege. If you've ever seen the MX-3 the body line of them are nothing even close to the Protege, they are a hatch back. Nothing on the MX-3 is anywhere close to the Proteges. My sister owns a MX-3 and we have a Protege.

MX 3 is built on protege platform, but has wider track(few mm).
Most(if not all ) suspension parts are interchangeable.
They have completely different bodies of course.
MX 3 is Protege's pretty cousin

Yeah, as king_girliegirl said
the mx-3 shape is totally different than the protege(i think it is noticebly shorter). The mx-6 and 626 is a close call, but I think not. somebody give us some insight on this

The Ford probe,mx6 and 626 are based on the same platform... most of the engine and drivetrain parts are the same or interchangable....suspension parts can be swapped from vehicle to vehicle but are tuned differently.. with the ford probe having the harsher suspension of them all... all three share the same engine... 2.5L V6 164 HP and also a 2L I4 118hp from 93-97/98. There were power increases in the continuing 626 after 97.. of course all interior is different and body panels are different.. but most other things are the same..

What GSweetZ said, and

MX-3 is a slightly shorter wheelbase BH (2nd gen), although it can swap with a few first gen parts.
