Yellow P5 owners please respond

If you had it to do over, would you get yellow again? I am getting close to buying a new Protege5 and I LOVE the yellow ones, but I might chicken out and get silver because it is more conservative and it is a low maintenance color in MN.

Yellow or Not

I would defenitely have to say I would not change colors if it came to that situation. If there was no chance in hell I could get another yellow, it would be a tough choice as to which color I would get.

I thought the same way as you are thinking when I purchased my P5. My wife and I decided that we are only young once, and this would be the best time to get a stand-out color like the Vivid Yellow. I saw a old couple in a VY P5, and boy did that look weird! LOL One thing is for sure, if you dont like people looking at your car, dont get the yellow!

I was actually looking for a blue P5 with a manual. But the only manual P5 they had on the lot that day was a yellow. I had mixed feelings about it and called my wife. Thats what she wanted originally. So I bought it. (yes i bought a car in one day i pretty much had no way to get home from the dealer and my father in law is a mechanic at the dealership so i got a deal on it) But now that i think about it im glad i got the yellow. Its easier to find in parking lots. It draws attention. And i have to agree with mnkyboy your only young once.

I have a Sunburst Yellow P5 and I wouldn't change it for the world. I've always wanted a yellow car. I waited 3 weeks for mine back in September!! You definately get attention. The ONLY crappy thing is in the winter, it gets dirty sooo fast, cause of the light colour. I get it washed once every two weeks. The only other colour I would have gotten was the blue. That is a nice one...

I love my yellow one, and I wouldn't trade it in on a another color EVER! From the very first time that I saw the P5 commercial, which had a yellow one in it...I knew that I wanted that car. Especially when I saw it in person, I KNEW I HAD TO HAVE THAT YELLOW ONE. I waited 5 weeks for my P5, and it was well worth the wait. It catches alot of eyes, young and old. I get alot of pointy fingers (and I don't mean this one I get alot of smiles. I get people asking me, "Is that the ZOOM-ZOOM car?" and I just smile and say yes. I have gotten all kinds of comments about mine like: SWEET! COOL CAR! CUTE! NICE RIDE! AWESOME! ZOOM-ZOOM! and that seems to make the day go by better. LOL So, all in all...I know that I made the right choice...who cares about whether it's harder to keep clean or not...if you are way up north and your car is dirty...I'll bet a million to one that so is everyone else's car.

If at first you decided yellow...go with your instinct.

I just purchased a VIVID YELOW MP5 and I LOVE IT!
The salesman tried to get me to select a different color, but i insisted that it HAD TO BE V. YELLOW or NOTHING.

I already recieved so many complements on my car & color in just 1 week.

GO FOR IT.......

when I decided to get my P-5 there was no choice in color....at least not for me...it was yellow or nothing....it took me and the salesperson WEEKS to track one down, they are sell like ice cream on a hot day here. In fact I wanted TWO yellow ones....my wife told me she really didn't care one way or the other.....so she got a black mica one....but I stuck to my guns and got the Vivid Yellow....and have absolutely NO REGRETS....in fact....its a real head turner.....SO, if you want to blend in....if you want to drive your P-5 around town and only get noticed by the most descriminating of car buff....then you get another color...if you want to be really noticed....by all....get the Vivid Yellow..you will NOT be disappointed.

Thats how I was also. It took me about 2 mths until I decided to go with a Vivid Yellow with more options than I wanted. I originally wanted a 5speed with just a moonroof option. I had (2) dealers try to locate one within (5) states around me, and none showed up. The only other option was to order one from the factory. Ive read horror stories about how long some people have had to wait for there car, so I decided to go with a Vivid Yellow with more option. I got a 6-cd changer, floor mats, wheel locks and a alarm for about 600 more than what I wanted to spend. I still got a great deal. I have no regrets. I get nothing but good comments about the car.

hey mnkyboy...sounds like you and I have identical cars....course the only option you didn't mention that I have is the polished factory wheels. other than that....you described my ride. Of course there is that bright yellow smiley face hanging from the rear view too! ha ha ha.
