Talking

Just got mine tonight. Red, moonroof, abs & side airbags, polished wheels for $17.2K plus tax, tags & fees.

I had been shopping Focus ZX5 ($2000 cash back did not win me over), used and new Tiburons (hard to find ABS and most dealers charging $2-3K over MSRP for stick, ABS and moonroof. Plus V6 gas mileage is lame (19mpg av.). I drive 300 plus miles a week, so that bites.

Bought a 2000 Eclipse GT (loaded with all, leather, 16K etc) from Carmax. V6 was nice but handling really sucked. Took it back after also finding out first driver drove the crap out of it and did not service it at all.

Someone suggested a Protege5. Read Car & Driver and other reviews and was impressed. My wife has had 3 Protege DX sedans (auto, no perks). Okay car, but seem blah.

Protege5 not very blah. Immediate fun factor and practical at the same time. Kewl. I was sold, especially after getting it under invoice.
