Hello,

I have a '99 Protege LX-T, sedan. The wipers should be the same size as your car...I have upsized the wipers in my car to a 29" on the drivers side and a 19" on the passenger side for better visibility. I think the originals were 26" and 17". As for the rear I don't know.

I may be wrong, but 29" would not fit at all. Are you sure? I don't think I've ever even seen a 29" wiper.

I measured with a tape measure and came up with 21" Driver's side, 20" pass. side and 13" for the rear. i'm about to buy those rubber booted winter wipers for mine, a must in the icy orth.

Recommandation

I recommend , 20" on driver and 18" on passenger...Don't forget winter blades don't flex as much as summer, hence you need to go shorter or you'll have the tips sweeping air....especially the passenger's....And you may lose one if it starts to wobble....

Good call. I was actually planning on 19" D and 18" P for winter blades. It's hard to find winter blades longer then 19" in my experience.

No offence to those that ask....but just how damn hard is it to take a tape measure or a stinkin ruler out to your car and measure how long a wiper blade is? geeeeeeeeez......are we getting just a TAD on the helpless side here guys?

Or just go to the damn auto parts store and look in the book - it's usually CHAINED to the rack where the wiper blades are.

Jeezus - I'm with Nuke on this one for sure. Wiper blade size is not "unknown" information that requires an internet forum to discover.

Kindly get off your ***.

I have an even better idea: Look in the owners manual!

Or should I say...RTFM!

Ok, I'll give you one of the answers. I can't remember what the front wipers use, but I changed my rear wiper recently and I found out 14" is too long and 13" is too short. I used Anco refills.

Anyway, if you're still too lazy to flip thru anything, just goto Autozone or Pepboys and ask the salesperson. You'll get less crapping from some people (it's their job to answer your questions)

look, I am soooo sorry for even asking. the damn wiper is just not working the way it use to. it misses in spots. I'll make sure to never ask again. I was just on this site when I remembered about the wiper. Thought I'd get a response. Guess I was wrong.

Haha... well, you DID get a response, just that it wasn't anything useful

Don't be sorry, these kinda things do happen in forums. You never know what mood the person is in or if they had a bad day. But in general, people in this forum are pretty nice to deal with.

Anyway, I changed my rear wiper and yeah you're right kreamy, it misses some spots. I've heard that the tension spring on the rear wiper is not strong enuff or something like that.

TO the mods:

May I suggest the mods put "wiper blade sizes", "light bulb types" in the FAQ section? Maybe under a link called "Regular maintainance".

Thanks

free wipers

Hey i went to my dealer late last winter when i was in there for something else, oilchange i believe, and bitched that my wipers sucked so hard for being only 12000 k old and they replace them for free and admited that they'd had alot of complaints. But also the winters here suck so.....
