Who has Leather?

I am just wondering how you like the leather seats, and is the quality good?

I just got my P5 yesterday, decked out with the sweet, sweet leather...I love it!! The quality is definitely above average for a car in this price range, maybe even nicer than that of more expensive rides (the Eclipse comes to mind.)

I probably wouldn't have been able to justify the option if it were $1000 extra like on most cars (especially since the cloth is very nice anyway), but for MSRP of $490 I think it's a great deal. I only wish I could have kept the faux suede inserts in the door panel!

In any case, I suggest you see it for yourself before making a decision. After all, you'll be the one sitting in it every day!

I would like to get leather, but I haven't seen a P5 with it yet. Could someone post some pics of the interior with leather? The thing that everyone says is that it is so hard to keep clean, B.S. I have tan leather now and it cleans up so much easier if something is spilled on it, compared to the cloth soaking it right up. Well if someone has pics, please post or email them to me at keith@thinkingcapdesign.com

Thanks for any info!

I love it

I have the leather and it is very nice. Makes the car feel much more upscale. I have some good pics that I can post when I get home. I have a 15 month old and kids can be pretty messy and my leather cleans up super easy. I figured if I got the cloth whatever spills will soak into the seats not so with the leather. Anyway, it looks great cleans easy and matches the steering wheel and shifter.

I like my factory leather...

I got my P5 with factory leather. You can't beat the price. Plus I think it upgrades the look of the interior a lot. I took misc. pics and posted them on my website if you want to check them out.

Here is misc. pics of the factory leather on my 2002.5 p5

Oh....

Oh... and as far as the quality... I have 2 very large dogs (about 80 lbs each... http://www.lboe.net/p5.jpg) and one likes to sneak onto the front seat when I have the back seats folded down. Even though he walked around with his paws and claws, it didn't scratch or tear the leather. I am pretty impressed with the overall quality of the leather.

That's my $.02 anyway.

Dayill.

We got our Pro5 last Sunday. The only Silver one they had in 5sp came with leather. I was not sure about it at first, but after a week of driving it to work I like it. It does not get too hot and seems that it will hold up well. Leather is a great option and with Mazda's price, you can't say know (if you like leather). We lucked out and used the fact of it being the only 5sp in silver they had to our advantage (driving home with leather and sunroof for the same price quoted by a competitor for a model without leather or sunroof).

Love it too!

i got the leather on my white P5. the black on white makes the car look way more luxurious. my friend said that if he didn't know the price that i paid for my P5, he woulda guessed that the car cost around $24k. this is coming from a guy who drives an S2000. i got a great deal on mine ($320) and other than the fact that it came with a small tear , it is very nice. <-- didn't see the tear when i bought it, but they fixed it. i think its much better then the honda leather. the seats for the P5 got very high marks for comfort and the leather just adds to the style!

I have leather in mine. The quality is top notch, but the seams on the upper driver's seat is starting to fray at about 800 miles. I'll have to take it down to the dealer next week to see if they'll replace it.

I also have leather, and love it!

One thing to point out is that because the leather option is so relatively cheap, at around $400 US, that you are actually earning money when you purchase it. It automatically up's the resale value when your car has a leather interior by roughly $1000. So, think of getting the leather option as an investment in the future.
