My guess is that the wagons would be a bit heavier seeing as how they have more body material.

Im not sure but

Protege 5 = 2716 LBS, Protege Sedan = 2634LBS, MSP,MP3 around 2700 Lbs (i think). There's less than a 100 Lbs difference on all 3rd gen proteges unless you have an auto tranny thats like 20 lbs heavier than a manual tranny.

There is roughly 400 pounds of variance across the range or 3rd Gen Protege's:

Curb Weight M/T (Displacement, hp, lbs per hp):
1999-2000 DX/LX:
  2434 lbs (1.6L, 105 hp, 23.2 lbs/hp)
1999-2000 ES:
  2537 lbs (1.8L, 122 hp, 20.8 lbs/hp)
2001 DX/LX:
  2493 lbs (1.6L, 103 hp, 24.2 lbs/hp)
2001 LX 2.0/ES 2.0:
  2634 lbs (2.0L, 130 hp, 20.3 lbs/hp)
2001 MP3:
  2725 lbs (2.0L, 140hp, 19.5 lbs/hp)
2002+ DX/LX/ES:
  2634 lbs (2.0L, 130 hp, 20.3 lbs/hp)
2002+ Protege5:
  2716 lbs (2.0L, 130 hp, 20.9 lbs/hp)
2003 Mazdaspeed:
  2843 lbs (2.0L Turbo, 170 hp, 16.7 lbs/hp)

Automatics add 40-50 pounds additional weight. Curb weights shown include standard equipment. Optional equipment adds weight.

Curb weights don't just exclude optional equipment but are almost always also given as dry weight...gas, washer fluid, coolant, p/s fluid, brake fluid, clutch fluid, engine oil, and tranny oil add weight

If the given weight of a vehicle excludes all operating fluids, cargo, and passengers, the weight is labeled as "dry weight." Curb weight is defined as the following by the NHTSA and ANSI: the weight of an automobile with standard equipment and a full complement of fuel and other fluids.
