What size bolts for the rack?

My wife misplaced or threw away her bolts for the roof rack. I took it off back in July. Anyone know the size/pitch of the bolts to put the bars back on?

take the one that you have left and head over to the dealer have them pull you one.
or you can go to the hardware store and pick up a new one
Lost my pitch gauge

Incase you didn't read she threw them all away. And the dealership will not share the info and have to order them - plus they're asking $5 per bolt and $1.50 for the plastic washers. So I need to get measurements so I can go to Home Depot.

Bypass parts counter walk to service advisor tell them you just got your *new* car and are in need of replacement bolts. Just use metal washers as no need for plastic washers as you will not see them anyways. Service advisor asks you to walk over and see bolts you pick a few to determine fit.
Same thing at Home Depot. Drive car to home depot, pull off plastic cover peice and look at hole in roof, concentrate now its a long walk back to the hardware department. Notice hardware dept is mostly in sealed boxes. See if you can locate a loose bolt and take outside. If not go to real *hardware store with loose nuts and bolts* Or even stop by a auto parts store like checker they still stock loose bolts.
And won't think your stealing them if you tell someone you are checking for fit.
Sorry if that is so hard for you to understand I tried to tell you how to do it, now all you have to do, is go do it.

Since you did not read: lets see I did leave you two options as to, what If you have one or have none.

Boy I thought you guys would be more helpful. Like I am with other boards I visit. I guessed wrong.

I have gone out to my garage, jacked up my car, pulled off a wheel, crawled underneath, and measured things for people, instead of being an arrogant ****head.

I guess there have to be some ****s in this world.

It's the fact that you didn't and you have to be arrogant and stuck up like other import owners. That's fine that your gauge didn't work, but your come back wasn't all that impressive of you. Being arrogant won't get you anywhere.

Prolly would have taken you 5 minutes to take one bolt off, put it next to a ruler, take a digital or scanned picture of it and posted it then to write all that garbage above. Then I could have printed a picture of it and used my micrometer to get an accurate measurement of the pitch and size. But I guess that's too much for you and much easier to be a jerk.

But hey I can't change the way you want to be towards others.

Funny - I can't see where this guy threw any punches. He asked a question. And he DID say his wife threw the bolts away - what's the problem?

I have my racks under the bed, SilverPR5. I will pull a bolt and try to find out the dimensions 4 u this weekend.

Just in case, maybe you can sweet talk the service dept. into letting you have a bolt temporarily to size it. It also might be an idea to check other dealer websites, and ask an email question, or call around till you get someone helpful. I found a dealership a few months back locally that faxed me a blow-out diagram of the gauge cluster from the service manual - just because I asked about the bulbs in the cluster - very helpul. Call around. And maybe forget Home Depot - hit a small hardware store that'll let you take bolts out to the car until you find the right size. I find small mom & pop places are always MUCH more helpful with stuff like that.

And kosmic - cool out, man.

I will take one to Lowe's in the morning and find out the size of it. Do you also need the 4 tap scews?? Sorry you're having probs, I will look tomorrow and get back to ya. Later
