ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM!!! got ya hooked didn't it! lol

 

I have had Mazda's since 1989 ,An87 323,1992 Protege DX and now a 2001 LX .

 

I looked at a few things (VW, Subaru, Civic) and narrowed it down to the Civic EX Sedan or the P5.

If I wanted mileage and trade-in value (and free car washes weekly), I could go with the Civic from the dealership right by my office, if I wanted a wagon and a bit more style I could go with the P5. As of 4:30 this afternoon, I'm driving a nice new yellow P5 after trading in my '95 ES.

I'm sure I got taken on the price (pretty much sticker), but there wasn't much willingness to negotiate and I understand why. Thursday there were three yellow ones in the Chicagoland area with what I was looking for; this AM there were two, and I'm stretching "Chicagoland" and including Rockford - 75 miles northwest.

(added later) And yesterday afternoon, only the one in Rockford remained....

 

i was originaly looking for a used MX-6, but they where very hard to find with a V6, 5spd, and under 100k on it, saw an add for the P5 in the paper, then went and test drove it that weekend, i imediately fell in love with it. I went and test drove a corola just to compare, my mind was already made up at that point to ge the P5

 

i looked at the following:

1. SE-R Spec V
2. Focus SVT
3. VW Golf GTi 1.8T (used)
4. Toyota Celica GT-S (Used)

and a binch of other used performance cars.

*sidenote* i will soon be in the process of hunting down a project car. im going w/ something that no one else would think of-truly different. a renault R5 turbo. or here they were called a Le Car? of course the wiring will have to be removed and re-run.
