what sway bars are you running? That sounds like a recipe for understeer in a protege...

another EDIT: Where's the hook up for the H-techs? I may want to give those a go.

Well, the RB and HTech rates are identical up front, so I'm running the rates RB wanted for the MP3, except I'm 1/2" lower up front.

Running all H, the balance was pretty much exactly the same as stock. Those RB guys know what they're doing with handling, so I thought I'd switch to their settings.

Also, I don't know how reliable those rates are for the RB rears (although I got them directly from Jim Langer at RB)--I took some measurements of the springs and they don't seem that progressive.

Sways are stock. Might go RB or Progress after I get a house.

I got the HTechs from the suspension guy in the vendor section on this forum--they were $209 shipped.

EDIT: that guy's importcarpartsplus

*sigh* one of these days I'm going to stop spending my hard earned dough on cars. On that day, I'll probably be dead or stone broke, but one of those will happen eventually lol

Yeah my rational side tells me I shouldn't spend any money on the car--that **** just disappears. But cars are cool, so mine is a game of moderation. You, on the other hand, with your little racecar, clearly have a problem.

I think I might trade my P5 for a titanium 03.5 MSP instead .. going to check it out this next weekend. If the condition of the car and the price is right, I think it might just happen.

You may miss the space, but after all the smack-talk about how slow they are, I couldn't believe how FAST the MSP is compared to the P5.
I dunno if you've driven an MSP before, but I hadn't, and I was pleasently surprised at what a difference that little turbo makes. Plus ithe MSP's so well balanced right out of the box, it's almost like a 4-door FWD Miata...or, uh,... something.
I say if it's clean BUY IT!

The clunk kinda sucks, but I actually like the turkey.

Yes. "I don't really need much else now. Only some 15x7.5 wheels... megasquirt ECU... bridgestone RE-01Rs..." damn it there it goes again!

Bought a set, will sell the leftovers to someone who wants a modest drop.

I took out the transmission this weekend - currently it sits on my garage floor waiting to be reinstalled. Good news: I only broke 1 bolt. Bad news: Its not done yet and until it is I am stuck at 12mpg with my grandpa's '92 suburban.

Ouch, put it in neutral and coast a lot, whenever possible, LOL.

Cool

I tucked my P5 in last night, gave her some 91 octane to help her sleep better an told her a bedtime story about how all the little cars in heaven are P5's....

I dunno if using 91 octane in a NA P5 really does anything. Just use regular 87 and you'll be fine..
