It takes me 3 minutes to have all those panels out.. I've done it enough times that I know where every clip is or am just missing enough clips that it's way easy haha

Just make sure you have a deep 14mm socket and one of these (see below) breaker bars. You'll be able to get to all three of the top bolts without ANY problem.

I followed KF's thread, worked like a charm so easy to get at. Just use a socket knuckle.

Damn, that's some sick ****!! How doable is this swap anyway? I know it's been brought up a lot, and it usually gets shut down by not being cost effective .. but I'm just curious to know if it's even possible.

is it possible: Yes. Can you afford it? Not if you have to ask.

I think I remember seeing a guy on the old ClubProtege forum that did the swap, but I'm not sure if it was in a P5. It'd be mighty badass that's for sure, but I guess most P5 owners don't have the cash for that kinda project so we resort to turbos and such.

EDIT: Well wait a second .. if a turbo kit could potentially cost you about $5000 or so, then how much would this swap end up being? Shouldn't be much more than a good turbo build should it?

I'd say that's affordable, and well worth it too!

I think 3 or 4.. non-turbo.. with a used engine..

is it worth it? if your engine is blown, why the hell not.

the wiring is what is a pain in the butt, and it seems only people in Quebec have done it so if your engine is blown and you're down south well that doesn't help you at all :P

That's why god invented vehicle shipping.

Some forum member posted his email correspondence with those Canadians regarding the swap--IIRC they'll do the turnkey N/A KLZE swap for CAD6-7K.

I think they're running OBDII on it, too.

OBDII would be a necessity for most of us (of course depending on whether or not your state cares about the environment lol).. very nice. I'd pay 6k for a turnkey V6 in my P5.. but realistically I'd want to do the work myself.. they'd just need to do the wiring. because I'm not making my own vehicle harness from scratch!

If they could demonstrate reliability I'd be right there with a check in hand.
